The "Sleepless" Torture
________________________________________________________________
Medical doctors, a term called for a noble and selfless job, have also the right to have a good sleep... I don't know why here in the Philippines you are bounded to have a 24 hour duty. Although it is a good training but it is so much harsh and unphysiological. I think this is also the reason doctors tend to migrate to abroad. It's so distracting. It's so tiring.

Tagaytay Cool Spots!
________________________________________________________________
Tagaytay is a cool place. And when we say a cool place, of course there should be a cool place to eat-- Fine dining, good ambiance and a little touch of sentimental aura. One that I love to recommend is Bag of Beans. It has the best cheese cake that I've ever tasted. It's so creamy and yet the icing is so fine. The catch is you should go in the evening so to see the magical-fantasy style of the place. I think the best Filipino dishes are at Leslie's. Bulalo and beef steak here are the best. It has a good ambiance, with a good view of the Taal Lake. Most of all, I like the 18th century Filipino style of the place. Prices are affordable too. Lastly, Antonio's Breakfast is a great spot also. It has a view of Taal Lake although not that good compared to Leslie's. But if you want a Victorian style of dinery, this might be the place. The Chicken Teriyaki is superb and milk shakes are so delicious. Prices are of middle class but it is basically good. :)

I've Passed!
________________________________________________________________
I got my IELTS results. I thought I failed the exam because I got 7.0 in the overall score. But when I searched the passing grade in the internet, 7.0 was not a bad score afterall. For immigrant doctors (i.e. Britain and Aussie), IELTS grade should be 7.0 in overall grade and a grade of 7.0 in speaking. In New Zealand, an IELTS score of 6.5 overall is acceptable. I got a grade of 6.5 in listening but luckily I got a grade of 7.5 in reading. I did not take any review workshops but I did review on my own. Now I can apply for work in abroad hopefully. The listening part of the IELTS exam, for me, was the difficult part, because of the British accent. And you should learn to decipher what is needed for you to answer. You should not forget the little details such as the dollar signs or decimal parts. There are tricky questions also which I think requires comprehension and anticipation. The speaking part is the most nerve breaking situation I had ever been. Some of the questions were easy, yet some were not too coherent for me, meaning the chronological questioning of the interviewer was not good. Or perhaps, I'm not that good in speaking after all(?!?). Reading and Writing parts were the least difficult. I'm not saying they were easy but you're given time to manage your time and answer each questions with precaution and decisiveness. Anyways, it is good that I had my IELTS exam. It gave me a sense of fullfillment that I can be effective in speaking and writing in English. :)
